In Vitro Fertility Goddess
'In Vitro Fertility Goddess' is a book about my drawn out and bumbling quest to have a baby. The journey started when I discovered that my fertility had packed its bags and left home without a forwarding address. A period of wild panic ensued before I decided that I needed help to get it back.
Reluctantly my husband and I enlisted a veritable 'Coalition of the Willing' to help us have a baby. Along the way I kept a diary as a sanity clause which became the basis for the book. Just about everything about infertility and its treatment struck me as absurd. It was akin to trying to breed in captivity.
I used to challenge myself every night when I was writing the original diary to make myself laugh somehow. It was my way of not letting it overpower me. I think that if you can manage to poke fun at something, you diminish it.
You may not always win but you'll never feel defeated. Jodi Panayotov

"In Vitro Fertility Goddess takes the indignities and disappointments of infertility and turns them into a touching, achingly funny journey into eventual motherhood. This is much more than a story of baby-making. It's a biting social commentary on the agonising process of IVF. Jodi has not only produced a bitingly honest account of infertility - but a page-turning, laugh-aloud adventure story."
