A Briitish mother who had miscarriage and an operation to remove the dead foetus discovers that she is actually pregnant!
Yes, a 20 year-old British student suffered a miscarriage only to discover a month and a half later that she was still pregnant with an undetected twin.
Claire Hunter says she experienced pains in her side six weeks into her pregnancy and rushed to hospital where she was told that she probably had a miscarriage.
A week later, doctors confirmed that she most probably suffered an ectopic pregnancy which is one whereby the foetus doesn't implant in the womb.
Her dangerous condition (ectopic pregnancy carries the risk of infertility and possible death of the mother in rare cases) was met by an operation to remove the dead foetus and damaged ovary.
But despite the operation, she was still in pain six weeks later and was advised to take a pregnancy test.
And her reaction: "When it came back positive I was left stunned, it was amazing after everything I'd been through."
Miss Hunter, who is a non-identical twin herself, was then told that the baby was a surviving twin from the pregnancy.
She went on to give birth to a healthy, happy baby boy called Ryan.
Miracles do happen.
