I may be stating the bleeding obvious here but some health officials have put together a booklet based on it, the message being when it comes to fertility, don't leave it too late too get help.
But what is too late? If you are under 35 and have been having unprotected sex for a year, or if you're over 35 and been having unprotected sex for more than six months, and not fallen pregnant, see your doctor. Seek help. The sooner you do this the sooner you can expect to get results. Knowledge is power when it comes to most things, including infertility.
The booklet, entitled - ‘The In The Know: What No One Tells You About Fertility' covers topics such as an overview of treatment options, tips on handling the additional stress in your relationship, working with your doctor to determine your treatment plan including financial considerations and talking to your partner about your concerns. Or, I presume, finding ways to get him to talk.
The booklet can be ordered online for free at http://www.fertilitylifelines.com/
And of course, if in doubt, ask.
